From a small unit in Ringwood, Grayson O’Connor starts a local window cleaning service. He was only serving local suburbs because at that stage he didn’t have a car yet and was getting by on a mountain bike.
Grayson originally registered the business name Grayson’s Window Cleaning on 4th of December. Together with a local caricaturist, Gerald Carr, they design the Grayson’s® logo of the man with the cap and letter ‘G’.
Grayson moves to a bungalow in Box Hill North; since then, Box Hill North has been the Head Office.
The business now employs staff on a regular basis because the customer base and work load is rapidly increasing. Window cleaning is still the main service of the business, the additional services of gutter cleaning and gutter protection are now growing. This same year the business name Grayson’s Gutter Clearing was registered.
The first Grayson’s website is launched. By today’s standards, it was incredibly basic, but for a local trade business at the time, it was a revolutionary step in connecting with homeowners online! In the same year Grayson’s experiments with other difficult access cleaning services like Chandelier Cleaning.
The business moves to its current location at 74 Peter Street in Box Hill North. By this stage, Grayson’s is regularly installing and supplying the Triple-G gutter guard system.
The business officially takes on the primary name Grayson’s Gutter Cleaning, cementing our focus on gutter cleaning as the main service.
Grayson’s acquires the trademark rights to the pioneer brand Leafbusters® (established in 1992), bringing decades of gutter guard history and the exclusive 2G UltraTech Mesh under the Grayson’s umbrella.
Being an essential service, the business powered on during Melbourne’s tight lockdowns. Grayson’s also acquired the trademark rights to Australia’s historic gutter protection brand name LEAFSCREENER®.
Operating from our Head Office in Box Hill North, Grayson’s Gutter Cleaning manages a sophisticated network of brands and franchises.
